Dear John,
you've been long gone
but the dream still lives on.
With peace, you can't go wrong.
The weak can't be subdued by the strong.
At least not for too long.
"Give Peace A Chance" you once wrote in a song.
Composed in your mother tongue,
it was a message so strong
that was heard form New York to Hong Kong.
And like the moon, the stars and the sun,
It still shines on, and on and on.
