A POEM by: Fernando de Mello Pimentel
But the river´s waters, which were once
sweet in nature, were now salty.
Lyrically, they were quite uneasy indeed,
the Troubled Waters.
They wanted full creative control
over The Ocean´s domains.
The Ocean, The Ship and The Troubled Waters,
which were once One,
now became too distant from each other
and even from their own selves.
They started to ‘wish they were there’,
instead of lost in the empty feelings
of their burdened souls.
They even missed the bright light
of their beloved moon,
which was now taken by darkness.
And so The Ship and the Troubled Waters
inevitably clashed in confrontation.
The Troubled Waters intensely tried to capsize
The Ship with its shakingly egocentric waves.
The Ship, on its turn, fought hard to keep
itself over the top of things,
and always on the surface.
